Who I am
Strathmark is a trading name of Abdul Wahab Bostani, known as Arman Bostani, a sole trader based in Glasgow. In this notice "I" means Abdul Wahab Bostani trading as Strathmark, and I am the data controller for everything it describes.
You can write to me at 48 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1BP or at hello@strathmark.co.uk.
What I hold about you, and where it came from
- If I emailed you, I hold the business email address published on your company's website and, where the website gives them, your name and role. I also hold your company's name, number and registered office, which come from Companies House.
- Strathmark Fit-Out lists are made from building warrant records that I take each week from the weekly lists on the public building standards registers of the councils I cover, currently Glasgow City Council and The Highland Council. Each record has the council reference, the date it was validated, the site address and the proposal in the council's words, and sometimes the organisation acting as agent. I take out the names of private individuals, including any that appear in a proposal, so the lists never include them.
- Strathmark Care uses the Care Quality Commission's public data on registered home care services: the service and provider name, address, registration date, published ratings, report dates and the link to the CQC page. It also uses the business email address each agency publishes on its own website. I don't collect the names of registered managers or staff.
- If you reply or subscribe, I keep what you tell me and the billing records. Stripe handles payments, and I never see card details.
Why I use it, and on what legal basis
I use it to offer Strathmark's services to businesses that may want them, to send lists to subscribers, to arrange introductions between care agencies and compliance consultancies, and to keep a record of who asked not to be contacted.
For marketing and introductions the legal basis is my legitimate interest in telling relevant businesses about a service connected to their work (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). I have written down how I weighed that interest against yours, and you can ask me for a copy. For subscribers the basis is my contract with them (Article 6(1)(b)), and billing records are kept because tax law requires it (Article 6(1)(c)). Without prior consent I only email limited companies, LLPs and Scottish partnerships, as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations allow, and never sole traders.
Your right to object
You can tell me to stop at any time by replying "no" or emailing hello@strathmark.co.uk. I will stop straight away, and keep only your email address on a suppression list so I never contact you again.
Who I share it with
- When I write to a compliance consultancy about Strathmark Care, I name up to three home care agencies in its region, each with its public CQC rating and a link to its CQC page. If the consultancy asks, I send it a list of agencies in that region with the same public details. Those lists contain no email addresses and nobody's name.
- Once a consultancy has agreed written terms with me, I may email a care agency to offer it a call with that consultancy. The email names the consultancy, which approves the wording first.
- I pass a care agency's contact details to a consultancy only after the agency has asked me to arrange a call, and then only to the consultancy named in my email. From then on the consultancy is responsible for how it uses them.
- Some companies run parts of the service for me: my email sending platform (Instantly AI Inc., USA), my email inbox provider (Google Workspace, Google LLC, USA, with the sending mailboxes set up through Zapmail), my website host (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) and Stripe for payments. Some are based in the US, and transfers rely on the UK-US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
I never sell your details.
How long I keep it
I keep prospect details for up to 12 months after my last contact with you, unless you become a subscriber, and the suppression list indefinitely so I can honour your objection. Subscriber and billing records are kept for 6 years, for tax. A record of a care introduction is kept for 12 months, or for 6 years if a fee becomes due on it.
